Mixing High and Low

Linking to Patti at Not Dead Yet Style!

The outfit today is inspired by my free ranging hens!

See the top of my head?

It's like chicken tail feathers!

I tell you, these D & G shoes go with everything!

TEXTURE anyone?

Jacket is Chanel.

Retail price was $3650, but I paid only $499.

This is the high.

The skirt is several years old, from Talbots.

This skirt could never have imagined it would be on a blog

and paired with a Chanel jacket in 2012.

You just never know what life has in store for you.

The groovy necklace was a thrift pick.

Total price: $6

This is the low...

Hair Hat matches the orange in the jacket

and the shades compliment with housefly appeal.

Bag (that looks like chicken skin up close) is by Brighton.

I bought it impulsively when I was at the Atlanta airport.

Thank you for joining me today.

See you next time!

Picked For Peepers

It is time to pick up some new shades for my peepers.

I haven't purchased a new pair in over four years.

It is part of the style funk I am still breaking out of.

The thing about me and sunglasses is...

I have to try on many, many pairs of sunglasses because of my round face.

Round faces are limited on what frames they can wear.

But you lovelies with the coveted "oval" face , the "can wear any frame" face shape...

how fortunate are you!

The big sunglasses look glamorous on you, but they make me look like I am

ready for the set on Bug's Life.

I tried Chanel, Prada, Tom Ford, Tiffany and many other designers I had never heard of.

In the end, these were the only Chanel sunglasses that looked good on me.

And the only one's that didn't make me look like a HOUSE FLY.

How understated is this bow from Chanel? I love it!

And red too, so I can pop some color in my black outfits effortlessly.

I have a tenancy to wear a lot of black.

Before Chanel, RayBan was my mainstay...

From the moment I walked into the sunglass store, the RayBan's caught my eye.

But I said NO, because I didn't want to date myself and go backwards.

I have purchased more than one pair of RayBan's over the years and they

were a staple when I lived in California.

Before I paid for the Chanel beauties, I asked the sales associate to show me the RayBan's.

I had to try them on, at the very least.

Just for "old time's sake".

I slipped them on and it was like going back in time.

I felt 18 again!

But when I looked in the mirror, I was reminded of how I am every bit of 49 years old.

I also noticed how those RayBan's would do an excellent job

of hiding the flock of crows next to my eyes.

"Ring these up too!", I cheerfully said, and my daughter agreed.

Then I saw the orange box next to the register and had to know what it was.

I asked if it was another version of Latisse because my eyelashes

are beyond SKIMPY since the Eyelash Mother's Day Project.

I was told it was "different" than Latisse.

Chella® is "prostaglandin free", meaning it won't make your blue eyes brown!

Why didn't Latisse think of that?

I am sure Latisse will be coming out with a new and improved version shortly.

SPEAKING OF PEEPERS...

From a health perspective, it is good to let some sun into your eyes.

The sun goes into your brain and helps to regulate hormones.

Don't look directly into the sun, just go outside without

sunglasses for a few minutes, to let the rays in a little,

like a healhty dose of natural golden medicine.

See you next time!
