Designer Dish
Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 3:34PM

My outfit today reminds me of a designer dish, made with unique ingredients
and simmered over a few decades.

The silk shirt is new, but the rest of the outfit has been aged like fine wine.
Similar to my "pushin 50" fine wine age.

Inspired by the chain on the Chanel bag, I needed a thick gold necklace to make this work.
Truth be told, I needed a necklace that I have seen on some rappers, but with the price
of gold so high, I knew I wasn't going to get a substantial gold chain around
my neck anytime soon.

Then one gold bracelet called out and said, "I will connect to everyone here, and together
we will make you that thick gold chain you desire!"
I love when my jewelry unifies itself.
And yes, it is normal for my jewelry to speak to me. :-)

I couldn't wait to add some spice... my "funky as all get out" Prada kitten heels.
That stitching on the camel makes me swoon (almost salivate)!

After being inspired (shamefully envious actually...) of Jeannie from Gracefully50.com's
extensive (RIDICULOUS!) Chanel handbag collection, I couldn't take it anymore.
So I took out a second mortgage on my house and bought myself a new (used) little Chanel beauty.

The skirt is from Valentino and from the length of it, my guess is that it's from
the late 70's or early 80's.
I love the gold buttons in the back that seem to simmer gently over the
slow flame (chain) from the Chanel bag.

I LOVE THESE SHOES!
I know, they are not for the weak of heart!
Maybe they are too strong and overpower the dish?

Chanel sunglasses with the red bows hiding are like a bit of chopped parsley, keeping it fresh.

Here is the necklace showing you how unified it can become when prompted
to become a part of the latest dish.
And yes, I am an opportunist too...
and that is our newest Tooth Soap®,
FennaMint Whip!
Thank you for joining me today.
Just as this necklace was happy to connect, I am thrilled you stopped by to connect too.
What outfits do you have that seem like a tasty dish?
I bet you have plenty you could whip up!
Have a beautiful day!

You look tres chic! Love the silhouette of the skirt -- evokes the 50s (as do your seamed stockings and heels). Brava!
Those SHOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I just had a mild stroke!
Amazing, chic ensemble! Those shoes, that bag... love it all, but you really got me with the food/recipe analogy! Love it!
Joni, I am getting the smelling salts now, hold on!! :-)
Jessie, since you like that analogy business, I just got a green light to really show my weirdness. I see style/fashion/life analogies everywhere. Yup, total analogy freak! :-)
Love the bag with the top, so pretty.
Love your shoes! The whole look is great. Your gold chains and coins are both elegant and fun.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment too!

Rachel (Rawkul) You look like a million, nay ZILLION bucks! This is a dish that is tasty any time of the day. I love the whole looks, and those shoes make me drool a bit too. Loving the DIY aspect of the necklace, especially as it looks so polished. And I am not surprised you know Jeanine from Gracefully 50, she is a class act and inspires me to no end with her classic and quality way of putting things together.
Beautiful, I love this outfit on you!
Thank you Heather, I appreciate you stopping by! :-)
Wow - that skirt is amazing, and I'm loving the silk blouse!!
Your outfit is STUNNING! And those shows are to die for, even though I agree they aren't for the faint of heart. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog to say hello.

very stylish outfit, you keep your clothes really well and they still look so current. I like the gloves and chanel bag for a touch of class. The gold chain is vintage chic, and lovely Prada shoes, I like the beautiful stitching.

I adore every part of this outfit. The gloves are so deliciously over the top!
As a person who loves to cook and improvise dishes, I often think of creating an outfit in the same way!! A pinch of this, a dash of that, sometimes complex, sometimes traditional etc. I'm guessing both use the same side of the brain; I love the creative flow!! What a fun post, and an elegant look.
